JOB OVERVIEW:
The Clerk will perform office support functions relative to enrollees accessing medical care and/or services, including, but not limited to word processing, filing, photocopying and other related clerical tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. He or she will assist the assigned department in all clerical aspects and support , which may include, but not be limited to answering telephones, routing telephone calls, taking messages, word processing, filing and photocopying.
  2. Assist in the exchange of information and paperwork between patients and the Company and health care providers.
  3. May provide customer service for enrollees visiting the assigned department.
  4. Participate in scheduling appointments utilizing the Company’s practice management system(s).
  5. May participate in retrieval and/or delivery of files within the Center.
  6. Perform specific functions relative and/or unique to the assigned department.
  7. Provide switchboard coverage and relief for other functions and departments.
  8. Perform miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned and directed.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Good communication and organization skills.
  2. Ability to utilize various computer systems in addition to Microsoft Word, Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and demonstrated ability at effective problem resolution.
  4. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of one (1) year clerical or service experience is required, preferably in a medical environment. Prior experience in a fast-paced work environment and direct customer contact is highly desirable.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or equivalency.
