JOB OVERVIEW:
The Clerk will perform office support functions relative to enrollees accessing medical care and/or services, including, but not limited to word processing, filing, photocopying and other related clerical tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- He or she will assist the assigned department in all clerical aspects and support , which may include, but not be limited to answering telephones, routing telephone calls, taking messages, word processing, filing and photocopying.
- Assist in the exchange of information and paperwork between patients and the Company and health care providers.
- May provide customer service for enrollees visiting the assigned department.
- Participate in scheduling appointments utilizing the Company’s practice management system(s).
- May participate in retrieval and/or delivery of files within the Center.
- Perform specific functions relative and/or unique to the assigned department.
- Provide switchboard coverage and relief for other functions and departments.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned and directed.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Ability to utilize various computer systems in addition to Microsoft Word, Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and demonstrated ability at effective problem resolution.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of one (1) year clerical or service experience is required, preferably in a medical environment. Prior experience in a fast-paced work environment and direct customer contact is highly desirable.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or equivalency.
