RN Nursing Supervisor

JOB OVERVIEW:
The RN Nursing Supervisor shall be responsible and accountable for the general supervision, planning,
direction and evaluation of all aspects of nursing care. He or she shall ensure the quality and deliver
of nursing care for all patients. The RN Nursing Supervisor will be accountable for all phases of clinical
education and training of the non-physician/clinical staff as such might pertain to the delivery of care.
Additionally, the RN Nursing Supervisor will oversee the Center’s O.S.H.A. compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide monitoring and recordkeeping of all medical support activities, including the schedule for testing of equipment, sterilization of instruments and activities aimed at meeting all regulatory and Company requirements.
- Will share responsibility for the ongoing training of medical support staff. Will additionally be responsible for providing in-service sessions on related clinical topics, policies and procedures.
- Assists physicians and administrative staff in measuring and achieving center performance standards in accordance with medical records documentation standards, NCQA requirements, New York State and City Department of Health regulations.
- Completes or arrange for the completion of all center logs and forms which monitor quality of care aspects in the center, including, but not limited to recall logs, follow up mechanisms and services’ referral forms.
- Actively participate and contribute in Group and center quality management activities as appropriate or requested.
- Administer injections, which may include PPD, Flu vaccines, immunizations. Further responsible for oversight of all injectables and ensuring adequate supplies and inventories of such.
- Accountable for the administration, treatment and training of patient self-administered drugs.
- Function as a medical education coordinator and facilitator relative to the Company’s ongoing patient curricula.
- Maintain and participate as a member of crash cart team. Further responsible and accountable for ensuring the appropriate operation of the related equipment.
- May assist Physician in any procedure that requires the attendance of a licensed nurse or as instructed.
- Responds to and participate in all emergency codes.
- May be required to assist in the coordination of appropriate clinical staffing levels for their assigned areas and/or the center. This might include, but not be limited to oversight of scheduling, vacation, absences, lateness and overall performance of duties of medical assistants and clericals.
- Assist with other tasks as required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization ability, time management and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to successfully manage a large and multi-tasked staff.
- Excellent clinical expertise and decision-making.
- Ability to exercise prudent and independent judgment, relative decision making with a high degree of accountability.
- Outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum four (4) years progressive nursing and/or clinical experience are required. Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and implement nursing plans. Prior successful experience managing various clinical departments or a multi-tasked staff of at least 10 people. Knowledge of various regulatory and compliance procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse degree and a valid New York State nursing license.
